Sandesh Recipe - SugarFree Natura

Hey everyone!

I personally can't go a day without desserts. Dessert is everyone's favorite but the calories we gain by consuming them makes us think twice before eating. So, I've substituted sugar with Sugar free natura in my recipe. Check out - sugarfree-india
I have used it because, it is diet sugar and is low calorie hence no worries when you eat your favorite dessert.

I'm sharing the recipe of one of my favorite desserts - Sandesh or sondesh, as Bengalis call it. It is simple to make and requires very less ingredients and about 20-25 minutes to prepare. It is very delicious and melts in the mouth with the sweet aroma of cardamom.

Coming to the recipe, the ingredients are -

Fresh Cottage Cheese (made from milk)

Sugar Free Natura grounded (to taste)

Small Cardamom Powder (1 tsp)

Pistachios (8-10 Unsalted and sliced)

Here's how to prepare -
Add moist paneer, SugarFree Natura (powdered) and cardamom powder to a nonstick pan, begin to heat on a low flame. The powdered Sugarfree Natura melts and becomes gooey, continue to cook on a low flame till it reaches a thick consistency. It also begins to leave the sides of the non-stick pan and looks crumbly.
 - Now allow it to cool down.

-When it cools down. knead lightly. If you desire to add pista almond flour , you can add and knead it till everything blends well and becomes smooth.

- Divide the prepared mixture into small and equal portions.

 - Roll them one by one between the palms of your hands and flatten it.

- Garnish with sliced pistachios on top.

- Let them set for 3-4 hours in the freezer, before serving. It tastes best when chilled.

Note - You can also add nuts of your choice (eg. almonds) or saffron, depending on what you like. It has a short shelf life, so consume within 2 days.

Once prepared, this is how it will look (Couldn't stop myself from tasting it before clicking a picture, and it tastes yummy.) :D

Don't let the sugar stop you, enjoy your Sandesh without gaining any calories.
Thanks for reading.
