#WomenPower - We want equality, not speciality.

Hey fellows!
Today I'm writing about #WomenPower. Now, firstly, there are various incidents that we read daily in the news paper where women are discriminated on the basis of gender. And why is that? We're all humans, right? Moreover, women can do work that men can't.

You may ask a woman what she wants, and she will hand you a long list of things. But when you ask her what is that one thing you badly want, she will say - EQUALITY.

The question that I'd like to ask and answer is - Do women want to be treated specially or equally? - Do men know the difference?
There's a difference between being treated equally and being treated specially. We, women, want EQUALITY and I don't see any harm in that. Being treated equally is not much that anyone can ask for. Men need to know that there is a huge difference in the two. And, after reading comments on the internet almost daily, I'd say, Asking for equality doesn't make you a feminist, specially will. We do not want to be called feminists, but equalists maybe?

When we are all equal in the eyes of law, why should we not get equal treatment in society? Why is it so tough for society to accept that women deserve equal treatment? We ain't aliens after all. Moreover, equality is a fundamental right of every individual.

Coming over to being treated specially, I'd only say we don't want that. But atleast put efforts to give us equal treatment.

A man works and earns for the family, but even a woman does that. And apart from that, women have to look after the house, kids, and everything. We leave our house where we lived since childhood for a new family, after marriage. We change our surnames. We SACRIFICE. In return, we do not wish for anything but just being treated EQUALLY. Is that a lot to ask for? Refer the image below, and you'll know how much multi-tasking women have to do to keep the family running smoothly.

Shahrukh Khan, in his movie, Chennai express said, 'Don't under-estimate the power of a common man' and today, I say, 'Don't under-estimate the power of a common woman. Just give her equal treatment and see where she reaches!'

We come to know about incidents where women are tortured for dowry. I want to ask the men - Are you not capable enough to support your family or buy a bike/car that you have to demand it from your in-laws in the name of 'Love'? Break stereotypes, and give equality to women.

This image is apt in every sense. Treat her equally and see that sky is the limit for her. :)
And I can say that because of many women who fought the gender discrimination and are very successful today, be it sports, movies or any other field, women are not behind in giving their best. So give them what they deserve - Equality.

Let equality prevail, women will take the world to more heights.
