Jaipur - Truly #MadeOfGreat

Hey everyone.

Today, I'm writing about my favorite city - also known as the Pink City - Jaipur!!
It is the capital city as well as the largest city of Rajasthan, a northern state of India. It was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amer.

The reason Jaipur is my favorite is because it is rich in culture, heritage and everything I love.

Coming to it's DESIGN - A lesser known fact is that the city is planned by the Maharaja according to the principals of Vastu Shastra. The city has three major gates - eastern gate is known as Suraj Pol, western gate is called Chand Pol and the northern gate faces the old capital. Most of the buildings were constructed on the basis of rules of Shilpa Shastra. Isn't that amazing?

DRIVE - The city is rich in culture and tradition which drives me and many people with a positive feeling when one visits the city. I've been to Jaipur a couple of times and the city is totally amazing. It drives the tourists crazy with it's beautiful historical monuments. I personally love visiting historical monuments and knowing about our culture and that is why this city gives me the drive.
The food, culture, handicrafts, monuments and traditions give you a reason to visit the city and drive you towards it.You will find arts and crafts like blue pottery, marble work, handicrafts, antique furniture, jewelry, bangles, carpets and metal works. I was lucky to see a traditional puppet show as well. This city is famous for typical Rajasthani dishes like dal batti churma (super tasty), missi roti, bajre ki roti, etc.. Sweets like Ghevar, Feeni, Mawa Kachori, Gajak, Chauguni ke laddu, Moong Thal are also a treat to the taste buds. I even got some sweets packed for home. But the best part was visiting the forts and palaces. It really was the best thing ever. We hired a guide and that added to our experience as he told us many facts which we were not aware of. The fine work on palace walls that was done by artisans by hands left me speechless.

Have a look at these beautiful places -

CONNECT - Jaipur is well connected by road with Delhi, capital city of India and Agra the main center of attraction of India through Golden Triangle. It is a connecting city between Delhi and Mumbai on National Highway No.8 and between Bikaner and Agra on National Highway No.11. National Highway No. 12 links Jaipur with Kota. One can visit connected cities like Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer too as they are also very beautiful. Road network follows a definite hierarchy as most of the roads run east to west or north to south so there is no problem of reaching the city. It has an international airport too so foreign tourists can reach here directly. Jaipur has a very large number of tourists visiting each year because of it's ease to reach the place and rich culture. I personally feel very connected to the city and don't feel like leaving it.

So, if you're planning to go somewhere, Jaipur would be a great option. I totally love the city.

Sandesh Recipe - SugarFree Natura

Hey everyone!

I personally can't go a day without desserts. Dessert is everyone's favorite but the calories we gain by consuming them makes us think twice before eating. So, I've substituted sugar with Sugar free natura in my recipe. Check out - sugarfree-india
I have used it because, it is diet sugar and is low calorie hence no worries when you eat your favorite dessert.

I'm sharing the recipe of one of my favorite desserts - Sandesh or sondesh, as Bengalis call it. It is simple to make and requires very less ingredients and about 20-25 minutes to prepare. It is very delicious and melts in the mouth with the sweet aroma of cardamom.

Coming to the recipe, the ingredients are -

Fresh Cottage Cheese (made from milk)

Sugar Free Natura grounded (to taste)

Small Cardamom Powder (1 tsp)

Pistachios (8-10 Unsalted and sliced)

Here's how to prepare -
Add moist paneer, SugarFree Natura (powdered) and cardamom powder to a nonstick pan, begin to heat on a low flame. The powdered Sugarfree Natura melts and becomes gooey, continue to cook on a low flame till it reaches a thick consistency. It also begins to leave the sides of the non-stick pan and looks crumbly.
 - Now allow it to cool down.

-When it cools down. knead lightly. If you desire to add pista almond flour , you can add and knead it till everything blends well and becomes smooth.

- Divide the prepared mixture into small and equal portions.

 - Roll them one by one between the palms of your hands and flatten it.

- Garnish with sliced pistachios on top.

- Let them set for 3-4 hours in the freezer, before serving. It tastes best when chilled.

Note - You can also add nuts of your choice (eg. almonds) or saffron, depending on what you like. It has a short shelf life, so consume within 2 days.

Once prepared, this is how it will look (Couldn't stop myself from tasting it before clicking a picture, and it tastes yummy.) :D

Don't let the sugar stop you, enjoy your Sandesh without gaining any calories.
Thanks for reading.
Do post in your comments as to how it turned out. :)

Richa - #madeofgreat

Today I'm writing about someone who I think is truly 'Made of great'.

For me, a person is #MadeOfGreat if they have the courage to survive, to smile and carry on inspite of being totally broken. I did not have to think much about who in my life is made of great, because this person is very close to my heart. She's a friend cum elder sister named Richa (Name changed for privacy).

Richa is my dad's friend's daughter. She is a part of my life since the day I was born. Our houses were at walking distance due to which I spent most of my time at her place.

They say 'A great person never had an easy past' and that is what makes Richa great. Life has been throwing really tough situations at her. She was in the 5th standard when her father, the sole earning member, suddenly passed away after an illness. But Richa, with her mother started taking tuitions of students from Class 1 to 4. She did not act helpless, but contributed a lot to the monthly income of her family of four members - Her mother, younger brother and younger sister. Time passed by, and she got married to a man who turned out to be a very violent and so she left him and came back to her mother's house and continued with her tuition classes. When everyone who knew her thought the bad time had passed, life threw another tough situation - Her mother was detected with cancer. She still did not lose hope and earned enough to get her mother treated, but this was not in her hands, cancer took over her mother who passed away in a year. She now had only her two siblings with her. Life still wasn't tired of testing Richa. She had already filed a divorce case and now had cleared her banking exams and was working in a bank. Now came another shocker - Her brother got married and took away all their ancestral property. She, along with her younger sister had their bags packed and moved to a hotel. Since she was not at a very high post, her bank did not offer a residential place. She used to work all day and then go in search of a new rental house. Her self respect, did not let our family know about all this and she did not ask for any help to anyone (for which i feel really bad as my dad could have surely helped her).

Her life's challenges seem to be like a film but it is a reality (and by facing these challenges she has proved herself as not less than a heroine.) :) But the happy part is, she is happy now (although few problems are still there but she still manages to smile). She has got promoted and is a bank manager now. She got her sister married.

Her life has had a huge impact on my life as she taught me to smile even when life is throwing lemons. When I was not sure about where my career was going, or when I faced betrayal from someone I least expected, it was her life that inspired me to live and to smile. She has absolutely lived upto the saying - When life shows you a hundred reasons to cry, show life a thousand reasons to smile.

Her ability to survive even when situations kept going worse and standing tall and handling them instead of running away, makes her - MADE OF GREAT.

Real Togetherness

Hey readers!
Hope you all are doing fine.
Today I'm blogging about what I think is #RealTogetherness.

Have you ever thought of real togetherness? In this modern era, we're all slaves of technology, caught in the shackles of social media, gadgets, pc games, and all sorts of technology. There's no doubt technology has made life easy but where is the essence of life? Earlier on special ocassions like birthdays, anniversaries we would visit our loved ones but now is it minimized to calls or sometimes just a wish on social media. We all live in illusion of being happy but unless we experience real togetherness we won't know what happiness is.
We're all running a rat race behind luxuries. We're so busy in our lives that leave alone neighbours, we rarely talk to people we live with in our homes - parents, grandparents and siblings too. This is indeed not real togetherness.

To me, real togetherness is being together in person, in the real world. Check out this video by Kissan

Real togetherness could be a visit to kissanpur. Doesn't that sound amazing?
Earlier we'd go to picnics to places with natural beauty around. But now we have replaced them with amusements parks. I believe that nothing matches nature when it comes to real togetherness. Even you'd agree there is no match for the smell of sand in rain, isn't it? Then why not spend some time with nature along with our loved ones. Real togetherness is being together not virtually, but physically. Real togetherness will give you real happiness but for that you need to free yourself from the virtual world, go out and enjoy with nature. Plant some trees, enjoy and spend time in the lap of mother nature.
For a change, leave that phone and laptop aside and breathe. Experience the joy of living and being happy with people around you instead of gadgets. All your stress would vanish when you come closer to your loved ones, talk to them in reality not on an online chat group. You will then know what togetherness I am talking about. Leave your robotic life and atleast once a week, get close to nature with real togetherness and real emotions instead of emoticons. It will make you feel lively and fresh. Be it the cool breeze of trees or rains, it is sure to give you happiness when you enjoy it with your family and friends.
Go and discover the joy of #RealTogetherness. Break the shackles that stop you from 'living', my friends and reach out to your loved ones along with nature as being with nature can give you true joy. Build some beautiful strong relations with your family in the real world. Connect in person with your family rather than texting them while you live in the same house.
Enjoy the real togetherness of life.
Thanks for reading!
Keep spreading the real togetherness! :)

#WomenPower - We want equality, not speciality.

Hey fellows!
Today I'm writing about #WomenPower. Now, firstly, there are various incidents that we read daily in the news paper where women are discriminated on the basis of gender. And why is that? We're all humans, right? Moreover, women can do work that men can't.

You may ask a woman what she wants, and she will hand you a long list of things. But when you ask her what is that one thing you badly want, she will say - EQUALITY.

The question that I'd like to ask and answer is - Do women want to be treated specially or equally? - Do men know the difference?
There's a difference between being treated equally and being treated specially. We, women, want EQUALITY and I don't see any harm in that. Being treated equally is not much that anyone can ask for. Men need to know that there is a huge difference in the two. And, after reading comments on the internet almost daily, I'd say, Asking for equality doesn't make you a feminist, specially will. We do not want to be called feminists, but equalists maybe?

When we are all equal in the eyes of law, why should we not get equal treatment in society? Why is it so tough for society to accept that women deserve equal treatment? We ain't aliens after all. Moreover, equality is a fundamental right of every individual.

Coming over to being treated specially, I'd only say we don't want that. But atleast put efforts to give us equal treatment.

A man works and earns for the family, but even a woman does that. And apart from that, women have to look after the house, kids, and everything. We leave our house where we lived since childhood for a new family, after marriage. We change our surnames. We SACRIFICE. In return, we do not wish for anything but just being treated EQUALLY. Is that a lot to ask for? Refer the image below, and you'll know how much multi-tasking women have to do to keep the family running smoothly.
Shahrukh Khan, in his movie, Chennai express said, 'Don't under-estimate the power of a common man' and today, I say, 'Don't under-estimate the power of a common woman. Just give her equal treatment and see where she reaches!'

We come to know about incidents where women are tortured for dowry. I want to ask the men - Are you not capable enough to support your family or buy a bike/car that you have to demand it from your in-laws in the name of 'Love'? Break stereotypes, and give equality to women.

This image is apt in every sense. Treat her equally and see that sky is the limit for her. :)
And I can say that because of many women who fought the gender discrimination and are very successful today, be it sports, movies or any other field, women are not behind in giving their best. So give them what they deserve - Equality.

Let equality prevail, women will take the world to more heights.

Aquarian Female - This defines me completely.

Inconsistency and confusion describe the characteristics of an Aquarius female. The same goes for her love life too. She is very loyal. She will be committed and remain faithful too, but do not try to bind her. Let her enjoy her freedom and in return, she will come back to you when she gets tired of her expeditions. She hums a different tune, which most of us have not even heard of.

An Aquarian female loves her freedom and if you can accept this, she will love you even more. Within her boundless limits, her love is also limitless. Position and power matter to her more than bank balance. If you want her to fall in love with you, be true and honest.

An Aquarian girl's love will be subtle and unassuming. She is intense, but may prefer to be platonic most of the time. She will always be a social delight. She will trust you completely and will not be unduly suspicious of your activities. You will also not be bothered by too much jealousy or possessiveness on her part. *Her trust arises from the fact that before committing, she had dissected your behavior under a microscope.* Only after being convinced of your integrity did she take the next step. Still, if you become unfaithful to her, she will be extremely hurt and is likely to remember the wound for a long time. She has a very strong will power. If she thinks the relationship is not working and has no chances of improving also, she will break it right away; though doing so may tear her heart into two pieces.

She will never ever be dishonest in a relationship. She will always try to know your deepest thoughts and secrets, but her own dreams will be beyond your reach. Conversing with an Aquarian female is usually a delight because of her charming manners. Her mind is quite unpredictable and you will find it hard keeping track. She will live in the present, then suddenly be wistful about yesterday and then, become enthusiastic about tomorrow.

She may talk about fairies one day and discard elves as humbug, the other. Never look down on her or she might never look upto you. She respects you and will expect the same in return. If she loves you, she will love your negative qualities too. As mothers, Aquarian women tend to be very loving and caring. An Aquarius female may find it difficult to express her love in the form of hugs and kisses and you will have to teach her that, since expressing emotions does not come too easily to her. She will happily hold your hand and walk besides you, but don't expect her to gaze into your eyes for hours at a stretch.

Don't smother your Aquarian girl with too much closeness, she needs her space and will give you yours. Things like suspicion, possessiveness, chauvinism and criticism turn her off. Just be nice to her odd bunch of friends and she will warmly welcome yours into the house. Make use of her intuition and insight, it may help you in solving a problem or two. It may seem like wishful thinking now, but then, remember she looks in the future. Hold her hand and she will let you see the future too, where both of you are cozily living together! <3

That's me! Deal with it, or leave! ;)
Do let me know if you know an aquarian with similar characteristics! ;)

The crazy 4! :)

Last night i was lying down on my bed when the good old days flashed in my mind.
Do you remember those days??
The days when....
Friendship meant Talveen + Ravleen + Sheetal + Jaishree?  Of course, it still means but...Anyways, i was recalling the days when.....
When we used to fight to sit with each other in class & end up getting angry & sitting in 4 different benches? & then one of us would quietly come up & pick the other one's bag & drag her to sit together? :D
When Talveen would be jealous every time i said "rav, meri pyaari behna" or when ravleen would get jealous when i used to tell her that i called Talveen/Sheetal & we talked fr hours over the phone & then Ravleen would say "mujhe to kabhi phone lagana hi mat".
When Sheetal & Ravleen would say "Jaish b'day ki treat kab de rahi hai"?
When Ravleen would hit Talveen in that peculiar way jst to see me laugh?
When in the free tym, Sheetal would say "chalo na, dhap dhap khelte hai & then snatch my books frm me & close them? (btw, Dhap Dhap is our deteriorated version of antakshari :P)
When all of us would not go to school just coz one of us decided that she will not go :)
When Sheetal would say, "mere b'day me kya gift de rahi hai?"
When i refused to take b'day gifts & Talveen would quietly hide it in my bag.. :) (I still hav that b'ful clock with me :) )
When Talveen would make me eat somethng sour just to see me make funny faces & laugh at it?
When Ravleen would say "Meri photo acchi nahi aayi" on every pic that was clicked..
When Talveen & Ravleen would comb their hair after school got over in front of the notice board while Sheetal & I kept saying "bas yaar, acchi lag rahi hai, ab chal"?
When Talveen & I, while sitting in the last bench, used to catch hold of each other's hand just so the other would not be able to write the notes being dictated in class, or give a slight push just so our hand-writing would be spoilt?
When Talveen, Ravleen & I used to snatch each other's pen & give our new pen to each other & when I wanted to write with my own pen just coz i was angry with Talveen, she would take away my pencil box? :)
When Ravleen used to get angry coz of something & just disappear & Talveen would say - "folow me, i know where she is!!"
When I would not eat from Sheetal/Ravleen/Talveen's tiffin & they all used to say "Jaish, humlog ke khaane me poison nahi hai!" & then one of them would place a bite of chapati in my mouth :)
When one of us would give an answer in class & then the other three would say  "Bahut padh liya hai apan ne, hai na?"
When Talveen used to add new words to our vocabulary like "jhallz, lalaankad (i don't know wat it means, but i guess it means dumb), fanna (which means funny) & so on.. :)
When Ravleen used to specially make noodles for me & bring it to school?
When Talveen & I used to carry each other's bag just to tease Ravleen? :D
When three of us were together in the assembly (yet couldn't stand together coz we had to stand in two's) & Talveen used to stand in between both of us just so she doesn't leave one of us alone? :)
Ouch, I sooooooo miss those times!

P.S : I saw Talveen in my dream yesterday morning & we both were in class & yes, notes were being dictated in class! ;)
I miss those days but more than that, i miss you all! :)

Do you remember those days?? I do. :)

#MySiblingRocks - Rakshabandhan

Hello readers!

Rakshabandhan is round the corner and I'm sure all of you must be preparing for it, going shopping, making plans and what not!
Well, luckily even I have a younger brother! Now, like every brother-sister, even we fight like cats and dogs but no one else dares to fight with us knowing the strong bond we share. We share secrets, and like everyone else we threaten each other to reveal the secrets to our parents but then it is a promise to not reveal! We play so many pranks on each other and never get tired of laughing at it when the other one falls prey to it. He'd eat all my chocolates to tease me and then when I get angry, he'd get me an even bigger cadbury. :)

He's just like an elder brother to me inspite of being younger. He is mature and understands the value of family and that is what makes him stand apart from the rest. I will never forget this one incident, when I fractured my hand and had to submit projects within a week. It was he who woke up at late nights so patiently  to write what I dictate & prepare my projects so I don't lose marks in my exam, and tolerated my constant nagging to write in a good handwriting. :P

My brother is the reason I can dare any guy saying 'Watch out on your actions, I have a brother' and those jerks never irritate me again! :)
From a brother, to a best friend, to a bodyguard, to a helper, supporter, listener, motivator, inspiration, guide - he has been it all! Whenever I have a problem, he is always there to listen to it, give the best suggestion and help me sort it out.
He inspires me because he is very honest and particular when it comes to business dealings and I learn a lot of values from him. He is punctual and very committed to his work.
He is the best brother because whenever I'm angry he knows how to make me happy by getting me a new dress. Also, whenever he goes out of town, he never forgets to get a gift for me which is why I'm always pushing him to visit places. ;)
That is why I say, #MySiblingRocks :D

This sibling relation of me and my brother is something I'm going to cherish all my life. He;s always supported me in all my endeavors and decisions of my career. I'm proud to have a brother like him.

This Rakhi, I've planned a surprise for him and I'm sure he's going to love it (It's a trip to Goa) ;)
But on the day of rakhi, I'm not leaving him without emptying his pocket. All our cousins will go for a movie & long drive and dinner.

Apart from that, I'm also planning to get a couple of gifts for him from Rakhi - IGP & Indian Gifts Portal

They have an amazing collection of Rakhis and gifts that everyone would love to receive.

Thanks for reading,
Enjoy the sacred festival of Rakshabandhan!

"Don't marry her", my uncle said.

So, this is what happened :

A BLOODY blood related uncle of mine, was asked by his brother-in-law about me. You know how arrange marriages are. They ask a hundred relatives before approaching the family, and that's fine. So on being asked 'How is the girl?', his response was 'Hey, do not make a mistake by getting your son married to her.' And then the Brother-in-law didn't contact us and I'm completely fine with it because it is human tendency to believe what is said in case of marriages. I don't even care that he said so. (Please note, I've never been rude to/dis-respected him nor has my family got any personal grudges with them.) So, he refused and that is fine.

But then he went on to narrate this incident proudly to many of our relatives. And it happened to reach our ears to.

But, Dear Uncle,

Who are you to talk about me to anyone with no fault of mine? I have never been involved in any wrong activities so why should I be targeted for no reason? Who gave you the right? Why do I get to hear all this in the first place? What are you so proud of this act? Remember, you have two grand daughters too who are to get married within few years. How would you feel if someone did the same to your loved ones? Please find something good to do in life rather than speaking rubbish about someone just because you have no life of your own. And you do that inspite of my dad helping you every now and then and me not being a spoilt brat.

But dear uncle, I'd still like to say 'Thank you' for the first part as I am not interested in getting married right now and want to make my career. So, you did a good job, even if, the bad way.

To all the uncles and aunties, remember, you will have children and grandchildren too. So, before you speak for others, that too without any reason, just think of your loved ones for once.

And yes, take it 'LIGHT', uncle, just like your name!

Dabur Honey - #HoneyDietIsHere

Hey everyone!

We all need a balanced healthy diet. Specially now-a-days, in our fast life where we compromise so much on food, we need to know the benefits of a balanced diet. A balanced diet contains all the right nutrition and the right amount of calories. There are several benefits of a balanced diet :

  1.  Right nutrition for body : A balanced diet contains vitamins, minerals, proteins and carbohydrates in the right quantity. It helps in meeting the various needs of the body and helps preventing and fighting diseases.
  2.  Weight balancing : Since it contains the right amount and requires to eat different foods that provide the right nutrition, it helps in controlling your weight and makes you look good.
  3.  Provides energy : The balanced diet helps keep your body fueled with energy with the right amount of vitamins, minerals, etc.
  4.  Overall health : The right amount of nutrients help your body work efficiently. For eg. calcium-rich food helps strengthen your bones and teeth, low cholesterol diet is good for your heart and proper nutrition helps in better functioning of your brain by increasing the blood flow.
  5. Long, healthy life : Eating a balanced and healthy diet makes your body stronger and less prone to diseases. Unhealthy foods and inappropriate amounts of nutrients leads to a bad health. Remember, if you eat healthy, you will be healthy and happy, thereby leading a long life.

We all want to look in shape and follow a number of diet plans for the same! But we do not have a good knowledge about the nutrition and calories our body requires and the food that contains the right amount of nutrition and calories. But hey, Dabur introduces the Honey Diet.
Here, you can check your body's ideal weight and the diet you should follow to achieve it.

Talking about the nutritional compromises of a crash diet, I will say it really harms your body. The various compromises you make when taking up a crash diet are :

 1. Depriving your body : A crash diet deprives your body of the essential nutrients and also leads to water loss from your body. It will harm your body and also make your skin look pale.

2. Compromises your health : It gives you a reduced weight at the cost of your health. And that is really not good for you.

3. One kind of food : Since in a crash diet, you depend on a similar kind of food with a single kind of nutrition, it deprives your body of all the essential nutrients which are required to keep your body fit and immune to diseases.

4. No exercise : Let's face it, we follow crash diets to avoid exercise without realizing that the only way to lose weight is having a proper diet and exercising.

5. Cutting dietary fat : While on a crash diet, people cut out fat in their diet completely. Unaware, that dietary fat is very important for the body.

Also, highlighting the benefits of honey, it is a must for your diet. As we all know, a spoon of honey with warm water in the morning helps losing weight. Kelloggs - Khul Jaaye Bachpan!

Gone are the days when parents were strict and used to scold their children. Now, it is more of a friendly relationship - called Buddy Parenting where the parent is more of a friend to their children rather than always correcting and scolding them. Parents also learn with children and grow with them as a parent. A child needs to be guided and helped in the younger days. Remember, love can do what commanding can't.

The relation between parents and children is very special. Childhood, now-a-days, is lost between technology, gadgets and studies. Parents are also busy with their job and for earning to provide their children with the best facilities which is why they are not able to spend a lot of time with children. Now-a-days parents need to teach their children with love and spend 'Khushi ke pal' together instead of being strict to them.

A friend of mine is a parent to a 4 year old child and I love the relationship she shares with her child. They are more like friends rather than parents. She's not instructive to her child and also pays proper attention to what her child has to say. It is not a 'Do this, do that' relationship. It is about a 'Let's do this together' bond. This way she teaches her child about the new things with love and also learns about her child's world. She believes in making learning fun and create bonding moments with her child so that she doesn't compromise on the bond she shares with her child. Be it doing the homework together or learning an art, she is always very gentle and friendly with her child. And that is how every parent should be. She shares a beautiful bond.

Instead of instructing your children and being strict, why not get them to do the same work with love and happiness. This way the child and parent relationship strengthens as well as the child is stress free, cheerful and loves to learn new things which help in building his health and brain. The child will love and respect their parents instead of fearing them.

Kellogg's  Chocos helps your child develop as it has a chocolaty taste which all children love and the proteins of roti which makes your child healthier. Now while your child enjoys the tasty Kellogg's chocos,  and develops his health spend some time with him teaching them good things and values and have a lot of 'Khushi ke pal' together.

Brand Chocos helps in creating ‘Khushi Ke Pal’ between parent and child. This philosophy is articulated as ‘Khuljaye Bachpan’. ‘Khuljyaye Bachpan’ is about being unfettered and fearless. ‘Khuljaye bachpan’ is about empowerment, not being authoritative and thus letting kids be kids. ‘Khuljaye bachpan’ is symbolic of ‘unlocking’ the way childhood should be. Helping your princess bake her first cake, while she teaches you to take your first selfie! Your son helping you make the grocery list; while you inculcate the values of sharing in him. These and many more ‘bonding moments’ make learning fun and create a happy and secure childhood.

Happy Buddy-Parenting with Kellogg's Chocos! :)

The Indian Niagara Falls :)

I thought of writing about the desi Niagara falls!

A very famous tourist attraction is a town about 19 kms from my hometown Jabalpur, is Bhedaghat. It is situated by the side of river Narmada. The marble rocks and dhuandhar is very famous. The waterfall is known as Dhuandhar, which looks like smoke coming out of the river and therefore it got its name as "Dhuan(smoke)-dhar(flow of water).

Bhedaghat is surely a nice place to hang out at. You can easily spend a whole day here. While you stand and see the waterfall, the winds bring the showers to you too. The white water makes you feel so peaceful. Bhedaghat aslo has a rope way that takes you just above the river and you can see it clearly from the top. But you need to go there from the other side. Also, there are hundreds of stalls nearby which offer eatables, juices, carved marble paintings of gods and goddesses, marble turtles and many other things. You can also get your name carved on a piece of marble for about 50-1000 bucks only. Below is a piece I got for me and my sister.

These marble rocks is the reason why Jabalpur is also called 'Marble City'.

To view these rocks, you need to take a boat after you have traveled to the other side via the ropeway. The boatmen charge a very nominal amount and also act as guides to these mountains. The boatman we hired told us the tales of these mountains with a song and we totally loved it.

Many local citizens visit bhedaghat at night as it looks even more beautiful. It is heavenly on a full moon night. The night view image source is Flickr.

It is surely worth one visit to say the least. :)

#Fact : The song "Raat Ka Nasha Abhi" from the Hindi film Asoka was shot in Bhedaghat among the marble rocks by the Narmada River. :)

While you visit bhedaghat, you can also visit Chausath Yogini temple which is closeby.

Do let me know your experience if you visit! :)

Happy travelling. :D

Ambi Pur - #SmellyToSmiley

I am blogging for #SmellyToSmiley activity at in association with Ambi Pur.

Bad odours can really change your mood from good to bad. The odours in your home can make you feel puke-ish, dizzy and even irritated. Be it the smelly socks, bathrooms, wet woods, fungus, non-veg cooking smell, smoke and what not. Sometimes, when these odors get unbearable, I just wish I had a choked nose. Lol. But what if you have guests coming over and that unpleasant odour just wont leave? It gets really embarrassing. Don't you wish these odours could just vanish forever?

Now the point is, how do you get rid of such odours? I'll share with you some easy tip on how to get rid of these odours and save yourself the embarrassment.

The best way however, is'AMBI PUR'. It not just covers the odours but removes it completely! :)

Here are some useful tips for you :

  1.  Firstly, if you have some smell coming in your house, try to identify the source and remove it completely, if possible.
  2. If your house is smelly, the secret key is  'Vodka'. Add 3 parts of water and one part of vodka and spray it in your house. It will take away the bad odour.
  3. To remove smoke smells, i use vinegar and it is very helpful. Take a cloth and put white vinegar  on it and then take it around your house while swinging the cloth in the air.
  4. Your pet's smell can be really annoying as it gets into the whole house. Activated charcoal is great for absorbing a range of odors, especially those caused by pets.
  5.  The bathroom of your house can have the most unpleasant smell. Use an odour remover  or baking soda. Keep a cup of baking soda in the bathroom and wait for sometime for the odour to vanish.
  6. Cooking non-veg or spicy food can also lead to a smelly kitchen. Boil a cup of vinegar on the stove. The vapors that release into the air will vanish the other smells.
  7. Your carpets can be smelly too at times. Use vinegar as it helps to kill the bacteria on the carpet that causes odour. Use 1 quarter of vinegar and 3 quarters of water and dip a cloth in it. Rub this cloth on the carpet to remove the odour.
  8. Garbage bin can also be a reason for the smell in your house. Drop pieces of lemon into the garbage bin. It can absorb most smells as it has citrus. If it still smells, use cold water with half cup of vinegar.
  9. Sweat smell can also put you in an embarrassing situation. Dirty clothes can stink While washing them add half a cup of washing soda. It will take out the smell.
  10. Keep cleaning your refrigerator every month and if it still smells, keep a container of baking soda that can absorb the bad odour and keep your food fresh and ordour-less.
  11. Also, don't forget to wipe the doors, windows, bulbs etc. on a regular basis as odours sometimes settle on them and then your house keeps smelling.
These are tips to prevent bad odour. For a pleasant smell in your house, use Ambi Pur room freshener. :)
Hope my tips will help your house go from #SmellyToSmiley :)

#HugYourDad on Father's Day!

Hey friends!

This father’s day, I am expressing my love towards my dad by participating in the #HugYourDad activity at BlogAdda in association with Vicks.

Father's Day is round the corner. We all love our dads and there's no doubt about it. They are our source of strength, courage and our support.

DAD - It's not just a 3 letter word, it means the WORLD to me. I want to express my love to my dad this Father's day by a hug. A hug can say a lot of things. Whether you're sad, happy, or want to express your love to someone, there can't be a better way to express it than hugging the person. I want to give this magical hug to my dad for he has been with me through all thick and thin in life. I want to say a big thank you to him. The reason I live my life without any big tensions, is this person - MY DAD! Since the time I can recall, whenever I had any problem, I knew where to go and then a while later, I was a happy child again! It seems he has a magic wand that makes my problems disappear within no time. :)
I cannot recall any incident where I demanded for anything and he said 'No'. All my wishes are fulfilled. Not that he is some billionaire but he doesn't ever make me feel the pinch of money. He does his best to keep me happy by sacrificing his own wishes and even needs.

I hear so many incidents of girls not being allowed to wear jeans or not getting to pursue their career, or not allowed to go out of their hometown but I am really lucky my dad is broad-minded and he doesn't put any such restrictions on me. Moreover, he allowed me to follow my dreams. I am so proud to say my dad treats me as he treats my brother. :)

I would like to share an incident here. I once met with a small accident and when I returned home I narrated it to my dad. And his first question was 'I hope the other child wasn't hurt?' and this touched my heart. Not just does he care for me but also for other people's children.

He is not just a great dad but a great person too and I do not say that just because he is my dad but because he really is. He has given me a very good upbringing with a lot of good values for which I can't thank him enough. Inspite of his super busy work schedule, he never let me feel his absence and always had time for me. For all of this, and more that words can't express, this Father's day I would give him a big tight bear hug to express a 'thank you' and a 'love you dad' because if there is one man who won't ever make you cry, he surely is your DAD. :)

To the most caring, loving, supporting and awesome dad in the world - I LOVE YOU PAPA! :)

Watch this Vicks Vaporub #HugYourDad Video :

Now let me ask you, do you remember the last time you hugged your dad? Is your answer 'I don 't remember' or 'When i was a child'? If yes, i suggest you to rush to your dad and give him a tight hug to make him realize how much he means to you.

A hug can do magic! :)

#ComeCloser to Radiant Skin

Hey dear readers!
Hope you all are fine.

Today I'll share with you a few secrets to a glowing & radiant skin.

When it comes to my skin, my first preference is definately VICCO Turmeric Cream.
Fistly I'd like to share the link of my preferred product for getting a radiant skin : Vicco turmeric cream

The reason I prefer this product is because it is ayurvedic and therefore is totally free of chemicals and safe for use. Now I'll share a few natural skin care tips with you.
  1. Always wash your face with cold water. Hot water opens your skin pores and makes your skin darker.
  2. Do not use a facewash scrub daily as it will damage your skin. Scrubs are meant to be used maximum twice a week to clear the skin.
  3. If you have oily skin, wash your face at least twice a day with warm water.
  4. Before moving out in the sun, don't forget to use a Sunscreen lotion to avoid tanning.
  5. Drink 12 glasses of water a day to keep your skin moisturized and glowing for long.
  6. Make sure you apply moisturizer after bath to keep your skin soft all day long.
  7.  To remove your acne scars, cut a potato slice and rub it on the affected area. This will lighten the marks.
  8. Honey is always a good thing. When you wake up, drink a glass of water with two tea spoons honey. Also, you can apply raw honey on your face for 15-20 minutes and wash your face for getting a glowing complexion.
  9. You can use Gulab jal (Rose water) along with a cotton swab and cleanse your face with it for a refreshing feeling and glowing skin.
  10. Mix 1 tbsp sandalwood powder along with ½ tbsp turmeric powder and a few drops of gulabjal. Apply the mixture to your face and wash after 10 minutes.
  11.  Fresh aloevera gel when applied to face can also help you remove skin tan.
  12.  Multani mitti (fuller's earth) is also very helpful to keep your skin cool and free from acne. Mix some Multani Mitti with water and gulabjal and apply the mixture. Wash as soon as it gets dry.
  13. Sandalwood is yet another great choice to keep skin radiant, cool and keeps your skin blemish-free.
  14.  Papaya skin can also be rubbed on face as a home remedy to clean your skin.
  15.  Mint is very helpful. Take a few washed mint leaves and grind them by adding a few drops of water in a mixer and apply it paste on your face for 3-5 minutes and wash off. It keeps your skin cool and clear.
I hope these natural remedies will help you get a healthy and radiant skin.Apart from this, VICCO turmeric ayurvedic cream is always there to look after your skin problems! :)
Note : Make sure you do not talk while the face packs are applied as it will cause wrinkles to your skin.

Don't forget to have a look at this video :

And now, that you know so many beauty secrets, enjoy living in your radiant skin and don't forget to hold a smile on your face! :)
Don't forget to leave your comments on how my tips helped you!

Making my mom a #StressFreeMom

Hey folks! Hope you all are doing fine.

Today, I’m blogging about why my mother needs to de-stress with a Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil massage for the #StressFreeMom activity at BlogAdda.

Firstly, it really was a very stressful week for my mom as I had my CA Final exams going on while my brother had his MBA exams going on and you know how mothers are! My mum being so caring, she was very worried about our exam preparations, sleep, studies and that I don't spend too much time chatting with my friends.

Moreover, our maid was on leave to add to her work load and stress. She's been managing the whole house alone without any help from me and added to that, my exam burden on her. She didn't even let me pick a glass of water myself so that I don't get disturbed while studying. But now that my exams our over, well, she still is stressed. Ask why? Dad's health, my result, my health, my loss of sleep due to sleepless nights during exams, my skin getting dull, whether my dad is taking medicines on time, whether dad is not tensed about business, about me gaining extra kilos of weight with my fast food habits, about her own sleep, about her children, about her own father, about grand mom's health, about my upcoming train journey (since i'll be travelling alone), about my packing and making those loads of namkeens, about me living in a new city and what not! [Not to forget the biggest stress of her life being 'My marriage' :P ] So, I've decided to give her some rest and relax her worries by giving her a Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil Massage which is going to act as a stress-buster!

I want to give her this massage just to say a thank you to her for being the ever loving mom that she is, to thank her for waking up early morning when the whole family is asleep and even working till late night preparing our favorite food, she has been the best mom ever. To thank her for she gave up her job to look after us and I don't think anything can be more than this sacrifice. To thank her for the innumerable times she gave me head massage when I was suffering from headaches. So to say a BIG THANK YOU to mom, what better way than giving her a 'Stress Free Massage', isn't it. This is sure to make her feel special. I have decided to give her a 'champi' of Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy Oil so that she can be de-stressed after the long hectic week she has put up with, without complaining even once. Since Parachute Advansed Aromatherapy oil has aromatic plant extracts and essential oils for healing, it is sure to be the perfect way of relaxing my mom by de-stressing her and seeing her beautiful smile!

Yeah, i know my massage can't be as good as hers, but I'm pretty sure she's going to love it! ;)

Oh, did you hear that voice? She's calling me for dinner. My stressfully worderful mom!

Love you mom! :) <3

Funny love story!

This is the story of two elderly people.

He was a widower and she a widow. They had known one another for a number of years. One evening there was a community supper in the big activity center. These two were at the same table, across from one another. As the meal went on, he made a few admiring glances at her and finally gathered up his courage to ask her,'Will you marry me? After about six seconds of  'careful consideration', she answered. 'Yes, Yes, I will.'The meal ended and with a few more pleasant exchanges, they went to their respective places. Next morning, he was troubled.Did she say 'yes' or did she say 'no'? He couldn't remember. Try as he would, he just could not recall. Not even a faint memory. With trepidation, he went to the telephone and called her. First, he explained to her that he didn't remember as well as he used to.Then he reviewed the lovely evening past.As he gained a little more courage,he then inquired of her, 'When I asked if you would marry me, did you say 'Yes' or 'No'? He was delighted to hear her say, 'Why, I said,'Yes,yes I will' and I meant it with all my heart.' Then she continued, 'and I am so glad that you called, because I couldn't remember who had asked me.'

Broken Relationships

Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together..
Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor,so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life .You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it.They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you,and then your life isn't your own anymore.Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness,so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain.

And wish you had never met that person? But it is always better to forget that person rather than hurting yourself daily by allowing them to still stay in your life.

Britannia Pure Magic, literally

I received a packet of Britannia Pure Magic Chocolush from Britannia under a promotional event. I decided to review it after I tasted it.

I must say it is actually pure magic. A layer of Belgian chocolate covered with a crispy shell. I would suggest everyone to try it for once. You'd totally love it. Meanwhile, i'm busy searching where I can buy it. :)

The packing was lovely. It felt as if i am unwrapping a birthday gift. :)
Also, it's cost is just INR 30.

I'd rate it a 4.5/5.

Why my blog spells 'Beauty' as 'BeYouTy'

Thought it to be a typo? Oh no, that is what I believe in.

WE see so many people around trying to copy an actor, sports person, singer, etc. I ask WHY? Why to run away from who you are? Some try to act over-smart, some try to pretend they are intelligent, maybe cause of the fear of rejection. But how can you fake yourself and expect someone to love you, isn't it?
Let people love you for who you are rather than who you pretend to be.

I believe every person is special the way they are. Let your real self out and be happy with the ones who accept you as you are.

Trust me, you are beautiful when you 'BeYou'tiful. :)

Don't hide yourself in a mask, don't copy somebody else, because you are born to 'BE YOU'.
