#SbiComputerSecurityDay Tips for safe usage

Hi guys,

Today I'm going to tell you about computer security. We all know that computers play a vital role in doing business, especially in the field of e-commerce, banking, travel, etc. Hence, it becomes important to be aware of the safety measures required by us to ensure our safety from malafide users.
State Bank of India, a 211 year old organisation, has already been taking steps towards re-inventing itself continuously to meet customer's needs. New products are being rolled out as per needs of time and needs of customers.  #SbiComputerSecurityDay is here to make users aware of safe usage of banking services.
IT has changed the way of doing business. Therefore, the importance of IT security cannot be denied.
Customers are able to save time, effort and get the work done at the tap of a few buttons - all thanks to technology.  Hence, it is important for customers to realize the importance of safety and be aware of the safety parameters to ensure safety of the computer system. Using IT with safety is of prime importance otherwise users may fall prey to attackers and face losses.  Hence, I am sharing a few safety practices which should be followed by users to keep a safe cyberspace.
First and foremost, ensure to use banking only on your own network and avoid using cyber cafes or other public place networks. Here are certain tips on how to safely use IT for banking relating to various channels -
1. While using Debit Cards –
Keep your ATM PIN under high security and do not share it with anyone. Also, keep changing it at regular intervals and don't write it down anywhere, memorize it instead.
Try to keep a complex pin which is not easy to guess by anyone.

2. Beware of phishing calls –
Remember, your bank never calls you asking for any password, pin login id, etc. You should never disclose such details to anyone including bank officials. If you get calls saying that your ATM pin needs to be changed immediately or your bank account will be blocked if you don't disclose pin, immediately disconnect the call and report it to the bank.  Exercise due care in respect of all such telephone calls and never fall prey to them.
3. While using internet banking –
Keep your User ID and Password confidential and preferably memorize it, instead of noting it down somewhere. Do not disclose your password to anyone. Set a strong password consisting of various combinations of small & capital letters with numbers and special characters. Easy and weak passwords are easy for the hackers to crack. Ensure to Change your passwords periodically, keep your login and profile passwords distinct from each other. Avoid using net banking while using insecure internet, like Public WIFI or any Free WIFI in Cyber cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, Airports etc.
Carry out all your financial transactions on secure channels only. Register your latest mobile number in the Bank accounts for SMS Alerts so that you can be informed of every transaction as soon as it occurs. Do not keep more than required limits for beneficiaries for money transfer. Never share OTP/CVV and Password with anyone.
Logout properly and immediately, on completion of your banking work. Do not leave the computer unattended while your internet banking is logged in. Check your statements and transaction history regularly and verify that no unauthorized transactions have taken place.

I strongly believe that while using Computers and Information Technology, safety should be our utmost priority. We need to be cautious to protect ourselves from any unwanted attack on our finances.

Do share these tips with everyone.

#CelebratingSuper with Vodafone

Hey guys,

The soaring pollution levels in Delhi is not unknown to anyone. Indeed it is a matter of great concern as many are suffering from breathing problems due to the high pollution in the area. Smoke, smog and what not, delhi is breaking all records of pollution, which ofcourse is not an appreciable thing. It is a common sight in delhi to see people using face masks, dupattas to escape from the pollution. It is about time we do something towards this huge problem.

The pollution reached levels where the government had to intervene and ban the sale of crackers in Delhi.

The positive side was to see few initiatives being run for this cause and the one that stole my heart was by Vodafone, one of the biggest networks in the country and I am proud to say that I am a Vodafone customer too.

Vodafone has been running great initiatives that are always welcomed with open arms.

Vodafone has always amazed with its revolutionary initiatives like free wifi hotspots in Delhi & NCR with over 120 free wi-fi spots, Air purifying and digital wifi bus shelters, and other praiseworthy initiatives. No wonder, Vodafone is the choice of 1.2 crore customers in Delhi, and counting.

With a lot of efforts being put in to restore the city's environment and increase development, this initiative to be Super is the need of the hour. If we do not control pollution right now, the current and future generations are going to be impacted with lung diseases and other breathing disorders.

At first, I was shocked to see that vodafone is selling crackers in Delhi, but within few minutes I looked for more information and came to know that these were not crackers, but it was time to be #CelebratingSuper with the saplings inside the "Vodafone super crackers" packet. I was really delighted at this thoughtful initiative of moving attention of the people towards the environment with this out of the box idea.

These super crackers were available at Vodafone outlets from 16th to 19th October in Delhi, and it became a big success. Many customers took part and planted saplings which is commendable. In the time to come, these saplings will surely help bring down the level of pollution.

Check out more about Vodafone network at Vodafone Delhi for tarrif details and other details.

Hope you had a green Diwali. :)

A sweet goodbye #CleanUpCashOut

Hi guys,

Today I am going to share with you how I turned my old devices (a couple of mobile phones and a laptop) into cash.

It was the May of 2009 when I got my first mobile. It was a Symbian phone, which I used for over 2 years. I did not sell it away even when I switched to a smartphone because I have this emotional attachment to my first things and I don't like to part away with the things I love. (I still have my first computer, first watch and few other first things with me, yeah). :P

But like all good things need to get a sweet goodbye, so did mine. I had got the DSLR craze recently, and so I made up my mind to buy one for myself and explore the world with my lense. Since I needed some money to get a DSLR camera, I decided to sell a few of my gadgets including the Symbian phone and my first laptop. Ofcourse, being the over emotional person I am, it was a tough decision to make but hey, the DSLR craze overtook my emotional attachment. I proceeded with my decision with a heavy heart, (no I am not exaggerating) by listing the items on a website. My phone and laptop were both still in mint condition and so I did not face much difficulty to get buyers for both of them. The excitement to own a DSLR was overjoying.
I got a call from someone asking about the phone, we decided a place to meet and then I sold the phone to the lady, who probably did not have enough money to buy a new phone, for a very nominal price because I know the joy of having things and the joy on her face was clearly visible.

Coming to my laptop, I got many enquiries from buyers but since I wanted to get a good price for my laptop, I waited for the right buyer. Finally, a college student who was from my own city visited my home and checked out the laptop and was very happy to find that it was in good condition and in his budget too. We closed the deal at my desired price.

After selling these two items, my sister gave me the suggestion to sell away tall the old smartphones we have. I gathered all the old phones from my house, they were 5-6 of them and listed them on the website, as they were in good condition. I found buyers luckily for all of them and converted my mobiles into cash.

Oh, did I tell you, I got my first DSLR after selling my gadgets? I got it from a person who had upgraded to a better model and hence no longer needed the camera. I got it for a great deal too and it a good condition as well.

Now I am thinking of letting go off my first desktop computer as well to #CleanUpCashOut this Diwali. I have listed it on Cashify and waiting for a suitable offer for the same.
Here is how cashify works -  Post your gadget with specifications, get the best quote for your device instantly, avail a hassle free Doorstep Pickup and you're done.

I will suggest all my readers as well to sell away the items you don't need and clean up as you cash out.

Do checkout this video to know about the market price of your product and sell away!

Still not convinced? Well, on cashify, use coupon code 'CLEANCASH' and get an additional 250 Rs. on the sale of your gadgets. Isn't that amazing? Then sell away and cash out.

Thanks for reading,
Happy selling. :)

Keeping the indoor air clean

Hi guys,

I am going to write about how to get #CleanAirBeautifulHomes.

As we all know, breathing in polluted air can lead to many diseases like chronic respiratory disease, lung cancer, heart disease, and even damage to the brain, nerves, liver, or kidneys. Continued exposure to air pollution affects the lungs ofchildren and may aggravate medical conditions in the elderly. Hence, air pollution adversely affects our health. We need to get rid of the pollution, but before that it is important to realize that polluted air is not an outdoor thing, infact it's alarming that indoor air can be 5 times more polluted than outdoors.

It's time we make a move to make our air clean for our own health. Be it dust, skin particles, smoke or anything else, it all forms part of air pollution and takes a toll on our health.

For cleaning the air indoors, we need to take care of even outdoor air as it enters the house as well.

I am sharing some do's and don't's for keeping the air in your house clean and fresh.

Dont's -

1. Do not burn the garbage - It is very common to see people burning their household garbage in their backyard, however it is extremely wrong to do so. It not only creates smoke (carbon dioxide) but also this dirty air enters the house and the person burning the garbage is also affected while lighting up the garbage.

2. Don't hide odours - Many air freshners just hide odours, but you need to eliminate them to clean the air.  Use a good air freshner that gets rid of bad odour instead of just covering it up.

3. Avoid use of pesticides - Do not use pesticides in your garden or at home as the particles of the same are carried by the air we breathe in our houses.

4. Do not smoke - Be it inside the house or outside, stop smoking as it not only damages your lungs but also pollutes the air. Smoking at home can cause passive smoking for other members of the family and also pollute the air indoors.

Do's -

1. Clean the air of the surrounding - Take measures to clean the air of your surroundings by using carpool or electric vehicles, going cycling, walking etc. which reduces the creation of pollution in the environment.
2. Ensure proper ventilation - Proper ventilation in all the rooms and corners of your house is very important so that you can breathe fresh air. Air that is stale is not very good for health.

3. Use exhaust fans - Install exhaust fans in your kitchen, as cooking, cleaning, using hair spray, and polishing your nails can release many organic compounds which are harmful.

4. Get Asian Paints Royale Atmos - It is the paint that helps to purify the air with its  activated carbon technology by reducing the harmful pollutants from the air. (Bonus, apart from the good looking paint on your walls). I am going to get Asian Paints Royale Atmos painted in my house and get rid of a #MaskedLife.

Don't wait, take steps for your health and breathe pollution free air.

My way to be healthy

Hi guys,

I am here to share with you some good and healthy tips that I follow to stay fit without devoting much time to it as I have a busy day almost everyday. If you also face the same problem and want to stay fit, you have come to the right place. Read on to know how to keep yourself fit.

I am going to tell you tips on how to stay fit inspite of having a busy schedule.

I am joining Saffola #ApneTareekeSeHealthy initiative and sharing my ways of being healthy in association with BlogAdda

Firstly, to stay fit it is important to work out. Now I cannot go to the gym going to my busy schedule and hence I try to do work at home myself manually which not only completes my household chores but also makes me fit by giving me the required exercises.
The second thing you need to do is to stop being lazy. Psych your mind into doing work instead of procrastinating it and you will realise that you become more active than ever before.

The third thing is you need to give up on junk food and start eating food that has the right oil which is healthy for you like Saffola Oil.

Next, squeeze in few pushups or other exercises whenever you get few minutes, but remember to not exercise after a meal.

Lastly, add a glass of honey and lemon water to your diet every morning which will wipe out the toxins from your body and help you stay fit. Push yourself to keep yourself fit and your heart healthy. I have shared tips on how I stay #ApneTareekeSeHealthy and hope you find them worth.

These are the ways I manage to keep myself fit. Do share yours in the comments below. Also, do watch this video by saffola oil -

I believe, everyone has a tough time following specific things so best idea is to define your own lifestyle keeping in mind your health and follow the practices that suit you best and the ones you can be comfortable with.

When you don't follow a healthy diet, you start judging yourself sub-consciously, which is why it is important to follow a healthy routine. Don't let the negative thoughts of not following a healthy routine sink in, rather fight them out by following few easy steps to remain healthy and fit.

Stay healthy tips

Hi guys,

We are all busy in our daily lives with our schedule and career, jobs, etc. But, I am sure we all do realize the importance of being healthy and go through the guilt of not making enough time and efforts for our health.

Today I will share my ideas of being healthy by squeezing in a few habits into my daily schedule itself to stay fit.

Everyone wants to be healthy and yet we struggle with it a lot. To be healthy, you worry about the extra time which you will have to take out in your life or the morning sleep you will have to sacrifice for that yoga class. Being healthy might also mean that you will have to sacrifice your food and switch to a diet you don’t like. You almost feel judged whether you are doing enough. And then with these thoughts in your mind, health becomes this difficult pursuit resulting in a constant struggle to make it a part of everyday life.

Now, there are two aspects to being healthy - one is to eat good and the other is to exercise. We annot overlook either of them. I plan to inculcate these two habits in my daily routine.

Here are a few easy ways which you can follow to stay healthy like me -

1. Take the stairs instead of the life whenever possible.
2. Go walking to short distances instead of taking your vehicle.
3. Include sprouts in your diet which provide you the nutrients for the day.
4. Use good cooking oil for preparing your meals like Saffola oil.
5. Do some manual work at home instead of going to the gym - It will save your time as well as money while making you healthy. ;)
6. Make sure to drink lots of water as water eliminates the possibility of many diseases. Drink water while sitting, if you stand and drink water, it affects your knees in the long run.

Simply follow these steps and make up for the carelessness you have being doing towards your health. Stay fit.

Hi guys,
“A grandparent is someone with silver in their hair and gold in their heart”, mine sure has!

As grandparents' day is round the corner, i.e. 10th of September, it's time to #LoveJatao to them afterall not everyone is lucky to have grandparents.

We all have been busy in our lives with careers, friends, jobs, etc. And we have also overlooked our grandparents. We barely find time to talk to them, visit them or even call them. Thankfully, i have been following #LoveJatao for quite a while now.

My maternal grandfather (Nanaji) suffered a paralysis attack earlier this year, and so I left my home and came to stay with him in his city. I have been staying year for quite a few months now. I take care of him, joke around with him, spend a lot of time with him, listen to his stories of his young days when he used to do a job. He is a retired Civil Engineer who served the Govt. I love the shine in his eyes when he talks about his office days and how he excelled in his work. We even listen to music together (After all, there is no better cure than love and music) and it amazes me how he can tell the name of the song, film and singer just by hearing the tune of the songs. Hats of to his memory.
He has recovered a lot from the attack and now he can walk a few steps too, i wish to see him walking normally once again and I believe that day will come very soon. We even went through old pictures - He has a lot of photographs.

Coming to grandparents' day, I am planning to celebrate this special day with my nanaji by cooking his favorite food and bringing milk cake for him as he loves it a lot. I have even ordered a shirt for my nanaji online, because celebrations are incomplete without a gift. We have 3-4 boys to look after nanaji so I have planned to call all of them as well and have a small treat with nanaji so he feels special and then I am thinking of spending some time talking with him. For me, it is grandparents' day everyday since I have been living with him, but still this day will be a little special for sure.

Also, it is Nanaji's birthday on 15th September so, that calls for a celebration again and I am planning to prepare a birthday cake for him or order one from the market and make his 75th birthday a memorable one for him as well as me.

I feel really blessed to have him and spending time with him is really the best part of my day these days. He jokes more than I do. Here is one of his jokes for you -
(His vision has suffered due to the attack)

Nanaji - My phone has just 44% battery.
Me - Nanaji, check properly it is 89%.
Nanaji - Look at it from my eyes beta. 
And we both had a hearty laugh. I am glad that I got to stay with him and experience the joy which many can't. It is one of the most memorable times that I am having right now. 

Here is a recent grandfie I clicked with him.

I look forward to hear from you how would you celebrate Grandparents Day. Do share a selfie with your grandparents on Sept. 10, 2017 on Twitter or Facebook with #LoveJatao & tag @blogadda to win a goodie from Parachute Advansed.
